Correcting the New York Post’s Lies about the RCA
The Communist

June 22, 2025

For the second time in as many weeks, the capitalist press has published blatant lies about the Revolutionary Communists of America. Only 11 days after The Wall Street Journal misquoted RCA comrade Mia Jimenez in a wildly misleading article about LA anti-ICE protests, New York’s foremost rightwing rag, the New York Post, is getting in on the act.

In an article published on June 22, “Communist group slams Mamdani for ‘deceiving working class,’ making ‘false promises,”’ the Post falsely accuses the RCA of “burning American flags and chanting ‘F–k the US’ outside a Jason Aldean concert in 2023.”

Whether through pure malice or simple sloppiness, the paid mouthpieces of the class enemy who populate the Post’s newsroom seem to have confused the RCA—the growing revolutionary Marxist party founded in 2024—with a tiny, irrelevant Maoist sect founded in the 1970s.

The misinformation doesn’t stop there. The Post’s shallow coverage ignores our militant commitment to class independence, reducing our position to mere opposition to a single Democratic candidate. As we explained in May, we oppose all Democrats—not just Mamdani—and all Republicans, as well as bourgeois independents like incumbent NYC Mayor Eric Adams:

To wage an effective struggle against the class enemy, workers need a political party of our own. The Democratic and Republican parties are capitalist institutions which exist to advance the interests of their class—not neutral vessels to be filled with whatever class content we want.

As we clearly state in our fighting program:

Communists stand for uncompromising class independence and reject the false dichotomy of liberalism versus Trumpism, two sides of the same capitalist coin. To combat the distorted polarization of the culture war, we stand for class polarization and the class war.

To achieve this, the working class needs a revolutionary party armed with Marxist theory to fight the capitalists in every workplace and campus, on the streets, and at the ballot box.

The bourgeois media publish false and misleading articles every day in an attempt to deceive the working class. This only underscores the urgent need to build a strong workers’ press to combat the lies. Start by subscribing today to The Communist—the only newspaper in America that tells the truth!

Antonio Balmer, head of the RCA Media Department, sent the following correction to the Post on June 22:

To Whom It May Concern,

I’m the head of the media department for the Revolutionary Communists of America (RCA).

The article published today, “Communist group slams Mamdani for ‘deceiving working class,’ making ‘false promises’” falsely refers to our party as RevComs, which is an entirely unrelated group. We did not participate in burning of US flags at a Jason Aldean concert in 2023, and we did not chant “F–k the US” as the article states. We have nothing to do with the group known as “RevComs” which is an unaffiliated Maoist organization that does not share our views, methods, or tactics.

We request that this incorrect information be immediately retracted with an explanatory note, and that the article be edited to refer to our party either as the “Revolutionary Communists of America” or “RCA” for short.

Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.
