US Imperialism’s Insoluble Contradictions

US Imperialism’s Insoluble Contradictions

On January 10, 2025, before the start of Trump’s second term, we published an article titled “Trump’s Empire of Chaos and the Delusion of ‘Fortress America.’” Given the many unknowns at the time, it holds up quite well overall. However, we made at least one glaring mistake. And that was to try to anticipate Trump’s actions rationally.

“Russia Will Collapse Tomorrow”—”and Invade Europe in Five Years”

In the picture presented to people in the West, Russia has to be weak enough to convince everyone that sanctions are working, aid to Ukraine is delivering results, and another few hundred billion euros will finally finish the job. At the same time, it has to be strong enough to explain why those same governments must year after year convince workers to accept that there is less and less money for hospitals, education, housing, and pensions.

The Communist: The Voice of America’s Communist Generation

The Communist is the official newspaper of the party of the Revolutionary Communists of America. It is different from any other publication you’ll find in the US today. It is a tool for organizing in the streets, at protests and strikes, for building communist cells in our neighborhoods, workplaces, and campuses.

Yes, we’re Bolsheviks living in the digital age, and we also use social media and our podcast to spread the communist program. But we’re not the kind of internet leftists who stay inside and “do politics” online. That’s why we need something we can carry with us into the streets and put into people’s hands. The physical paper is an instrument for building a real-life organization—a genuine Communist Party of fighters.
