Communists Generate Excitement at San Diego Pride

Violet, San Diego, CA On July 19, RCA comrades attended San Diego Pride. Comrades marching in the parade had success using our slogans, despite competing with the parade floats. Many people looked over hearing, “Rainbow capitalism is not the answer! ” A young girl ran up to us with excitement and asked if we had any zines or pamphlets —we sold her a...

“The union leaders didn’t want to fight . . . we gotta get us some people who do”

It’s no secret that Philadelphia’s public transit system is falling apart at the seams. Today it took me an extra 40 minutes to get home due to a mix of “equipment malfunction and operator unavailability.” In other words, there’s no money for fixing death-trap vehicles or convincing workers to drive them. After two transfers, I finally made...

Raising the Red Flag at Coney Island

Quinn H, Brooklyn, NY A group of RCA comrades gathered at Coney Island beach for a birthday celebration on Saturday afternoon. We put up an RCI flag on the umbrella pole stuck in the sand. A group of beachgoers behind us shouted out, “We hate capitalism! ” Two comrades went over to talk to them, copies of The Communist in hand....

Workers Cheer On Communism at Raising Cane’s

Anthony R, Denton, TX After clocking in at my job, I passed by a new coworker in the kitchen. With my backpack still on, I introduced myself and before I could even finish a sentence, another coworker interrupted and said, "Anthony's a communist by the way!" A number of coworkers asked me to explain the RCA's perspectives to our new coworker, I paused gathering my thoughts and gave ...

Morganton NC “No Kings” Protest: Liberals Called the Cops on Communists

Spencer B, Boone, NC RCA comrades attended two contrasting “No Kings ” protests in North Carolina, one in Morganton and one in Boone. In Morganton, we were met with hostility. Liberal organizers stared us down, and before we could set up, police escorted us out at the organizers’ request, claiming the courthouse lawn was a rented venue —though no such...

“I Saw the Hammer and Sickle and Thought: These Must Be Normal People!”

Austin D, Chicago, IL Far from a protest and closer to a music festival, the "No Kings" event in Chicago attracted all sorts. There was an expected —and rather large —layer of liberals but, more significantly, an equally large layer of disillusioned workers and youth looking for a revolutionary way forward. When asked why they were attending, no one responded with...

The final verse of “The Internationale” rang in my ears

Charles F, Queens, NY On the Greyhound back to NYC, the final verse of "The Internationale" rang in my ears. The day before, I had heard over 450 comrades holding hundreds of red flags singing it after marching through the streets of Philadelphia. I attended my first branch meeting on April 25 and officially joined the party soon after. I found out...

ICE Out of New York!

Erica L, Brooklyn, NY We arrived 30 minutes before the rally for a public political discussion to make sure comrades understood the situation and how to link the struggle against ICE terror with the need to build a revolutionary party. This attracted people from the crowd to hear us speak. One young woman listened to the whole thing. Afterwards, she said it was...

On the Barricades in LA

Audrey S, Los Angeles, CA Last night, I went to an anti-ICE protest after I got off work. By that point, there was an extremely tense scene at LA City Hall as a few hundred people faced down police in riot gear and on horseback. The crowd had constructed a barricade out of park benches and chairs. When the crowd tried to...

Free Ehsan Ali Protest at Pakistani Consulate in LA

Ryan B, Los Angeles, CA After hearing reports that Ehsan Ali contracted dysentery, Los Angeles comrades returned from RCA's Second National Congress ready to do our duty and show solidarity to our unjustly imprisoned comrades from the Awaami Action Committee Gilgit Baltistan (AAC-GB) and the Inqalabi Communist Party. We mobilized comrades on short notice for an emergency protest at the Pakistani Consulate. We picketed...

COMMUNIST NEWS

The communist is the party’s official newspaper.

It is different from any other publication you’ll find in the US today. Behind this newspaper, there’s a vast network of communist activity from coast to coast. It is a tool for organizing in the streets, at protests and strikes, for building communist cells in our neighborhoods, workplaces, and campuses.

Yes, we’re Bolsheviks living in the digital age—that’s why you’re reading this on our website, and we also use social media and a podcast. But we’re not the kind of internet leftists who stay inside and “do politics” online. That’s why we need something we can carry with us into the streets and put into people’s hands. The physical paper is an instrument for building a real-life organization.

Democratic Rights Were Won In Struggle

Democratic Rights Were Won In Struggle

To defuse threats to their newfound command over America’s wealth, the capitalists were compelled to grant a series of concessions, guaranteeing democratic rights that had been won in hard-fought struggle.

A PROGRAM FOR REVOLUTION

WHAT WE FIGHT FOR

The RCA is a party of class fighters committed to the overthrow of capitalism. We fight for a world of superabundance and reject the artificial scarcity of a system based on the pursuit of profits. We fight to establish a workers’ government to tackle the roots of war, inequality, oppression, and climate catastrophe.
