The party of Genocide Joe is now trying to wash Palestinian blood off its hands with the mad desperation of Lady Macbeth.
Links to Zionism and the Israel lobby have become very unpopular, leaving Democratic Party incumbents fearful as the midterm elections approach.
In July, almost half of House Democrats voted to cut $3 billion in military and “humanitarian” aid to Israel. This is a classic example of the cynicism of bourgeois politics. While they are a minority in Congress, they grandstand with symbolic votes, knowing the cuts will never go through.
Across the Democratic Party, erstwhile Zionist sycophants denounce the bloodshed they actively abetted and funded. During the height of the genocide in April 2024, Nancy Pelosi voted for $26 billion in military aid to Israel. Now, she’s joined in the chorus of condemnation and voted to cut aid to Israel in July. Yet, this hypocritical representative of the imperialist machine has been an ardent Zionist her whole life. She proudly admitted it in October 2023:
My father, as a member of Congress, called upon the Roosevelt administration to support the establishment of the State of Israel in what was known as “Palestine” at the time … It’s in my DNA to protect that state of Israel.
All told, 173 Democrats voted with Pelosi for the $26 billion in funding for Israel’s genocide. 146 of them still remain in the House. Four of them have since advanced in their careers and now sit in the Senate.
Meanwhile, “progressives” like Ro Khanna would like you to think that their records are clean. Khanna even went on a photo-op trip to the West Bank. He shed a few crocodile tears about settler violence and made some noise about the so-called “two state solution”—the failed dream long trumpeted by liberals and Stalinists as a reformist road to Palestinian freedom.
But what is Mr. Khanna’s real record?
Together with the overwhelming majority of congressional Democrats, he voted to fund Israel’s Iron Dome to the tune of $1 billion in 2021. The bill passed the House by a margin of 420 to 9. At the time, the Democrats held the majority and controlled the White House.
Last year, a measure was introduced to cut a mere $500 million—pocket change considering what is actually given to Israel—from the Iron Dome. The bill was overwhelmingly rejected by a 422–6 margin. Virtually every Democrat, including Khanna and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, refused to stop arming a state that is actively committing a genocide.
Barely a year later, these warmongers want us to believe they’ve had a change of heart. We should never let them get away with sanitizing their image.
