The Knesset has narrowly elected a new government—ending Benjamin Netanyahu’s racist, bloody, and corrupt 12-year rule. However, the new government is anything but progressive. The change reflects a deepening crisis within the Israeli ruling class.
After eleven days of the ruthless bombardment of Gaza—which has killed more than 240 Palestinians (almost half of whom were children and women) and left thousands severely injured—Israel has finally agreed to a ceasefire. The population of Gaza will pay a heavy price for many years to come for Israel’s attack.
