Despite the ominous clouds, comrades were determined to hold our weekly paper sale. As it started to rain, we held up the paper one last time, asking: “Are you sick of capitalism?”
Suddenly, a woman jumped over and yelled: “Yes! I’ve found my people! Where can I sign up?” She signed up for dues minutes later. I was stunned. I’d only heard about this kind of thing from RCA comrades in cities much bigger than Columbia!
I invited her to our upcoming cell meeting, and we continud to text back and forth about conversations she’s had with people from ex-Soviet countries about communism, and how happy she is to see our party’s confidence in Marxist ideas.
Workers are burning to organize and fight capitalism anywhere and everywhere. We should worry about “scaring” people away, but proudly proclaim what we stand for.
