A young man bumped my shoulder as he stormed off the train, yelling insults at a group of kids still sitting in the car. I noticed their soccer jerseys and knew it was something about the World Cup.

The train pulled away with folks still buzzing. An older man said loudly. “So busy fighting each other you don’t realize we should be fighting the billionaires. This is all so nationalistic!” People nodded in agreement.

I walked across the train to join the conversation. We talked about the Epstein class, and the artificial scarcity of the system. I told them that we need our own party, a workers’ party, because the Democrats won’t fight for the things workers need. The gorup agreed. One told me he was disgusted by both parties and had left the Democrats over their support for Israel’s genocide of Gaza. I handed out stickers and collected phone numbers to get them organized.
