Despite frigid temperatures, wind, and rain, nine RCA comrades showed up in solidarity with REI workers at an informational picket. We mobilized with short notice and arrived a little early. We introduced our contingent to a 20-year veteran REI worker and the UCFW 3000 rep.

We immediately went to work, taking turns standing out in the rain to show the REI picket sign and hand out informational flyers. The overall mood was optimistic, and sympathetic people were joining off the streets to help.

The RCA brought the revolutionary optimism. We communists intend to be a consistent presence supporting workers in struggles against the bosses in Bellingham. We had a new comrade join the prior week who was recruited who said to me: “When I joined the RCA a few days ago I was still a little skeptical of the organization, but now I know the RCA is committed to building an active party, and I am proud to be a part of it!”
