Over a hundred Stanford students walked out of Google CEO Sundar Pichai’s commencement address chanting “Free, free Palestine!” They were protesting Project Nimbus, Google and Amazon’s $1.2 billion contract with Israel for cloud and AI services. Google executives maintain that Israel does not use Project Nimbus for military purposes, whle offering no transparency to their own employees. Meanwhile, a 2025 leak revealed that the IDF stored millions of Palestinian phone calls on the Microsoft cloud. It’s obvious how silicon Valley giants use technoogy: to support American imperialism and carry out mass layoffs. After a lame joke about the last two letters of his name, Pichai urged graduates to reframe their perspectives about the future. But students are not interested in changing their perspective; they want ot transform reality.
