The RCA is a party organizing for a revolution to end capitalism and establish a workers’ government. We fight for a truly democratic society in which the working-class majority truly decides. Our mission is to build a mass party capable of leading the working class to political and economic power.
How do we get there? The problem is not a lack of numbers. Capitalism itself creates communists.
We are communists because it is absurd to accept a world in which homelessness and hunger coexist with empty homes and speculative hoards of food. We are communists because we cannot stand aside while imperialism massacres innocent civilians and the capitalists destroy the planet in the name of profit.
The same social and economic forces that compelled each of us to draw this conclusion are pressing on millions of others. Communists are everywhere, waiting to take action. But most are still going about their lives as individuals, consuming content online or, at best, studying Marxism in isolation.
Across all age groups, some 60 million people in the US have a favorable view of communism. If we gather just 0.1% of them, we will have a 60,000-strong organization.
The party of thousands today will become a party of millions tomorrow. Our task is to organize that force—to energetically build communist cells in every workplace, industry, trade union, campus, and neighborhood.
Our will to act comes from life under capitalism. But being a communist requires more than merely rejecting this system and stewing in class rage. We must rise from the level of revolutionary feelings and instincts to a grounded and scientific understanding of what needs to be done to fight the class war to the end and ensure our final victory.
A Marxist analysis of the economy and history shows how mass consciousness changes under the hammer blow of events. We can say with absolute assurance that the US is headed for revolution. From the near-insurrectionary George Floyd movement that spread from coast to coast, to the anti-ICE general strike that faced down the forces of state repression, Minneapolis alone has seen two massive social explosions in less than six years.
These events are a mere preview of greater social convulsions to come. The question is: will we succeed in building a network of Marxist agitators and propagandists in the key cities and workplaces, who can win their coworkers and neighbors to advance the struggle? Will we have teams of skilled revolutionaries who will not bow to the pressure of bourgeois public opinion? Cadres who, in the critical moment, can convince the masses not to buy into liberal lies seeking to co-opt and divert the struggle?
Our party can only succeed by transforming thousands of communist activists into trained Marxist cadres. If we build that party before the next mass upheaval, we have a chance at a victorious revolution. But the party doesn’t build itself. People like you must build it. So get organized with the Revolutionary Communists of America!
